THE THANK YOU NOTE |
CROHN'S POEMS
CHRONIC RAGE Everyday it's there Everyday Everyday Every night it's there a piranha swimming in your guts dinning on intestine walls It's nasty eyes unaware of sun or moon Unaware it's time to sleep But finally you do As the morning light seeps under your eyelids you take assessment It's there That constant pain still constant and now you've said "Good Morning" to it You wonder if you hadn't looked for it would it be there now? Are you doing this? Have you welcomed it? In some ways it's like a friend it's come so often No Nothing in you wanted this No one invited it Not even past life karma deserves such punishment No torturer could plan such misery Your own intestines chewing up themselves chewing up your daytime chewing up your night chewing up your life.
