I wrote these articles after my daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's** disease when she was 12 years old.
While doctors deal with medicines and surgery, I focused more on the social and psychological side of dealing with the disease and wrote from the parent's point of view as our family dealt with Crohn's. These articles are a combination of advice and experiences. I tell our personal story and what I learned along the way.
Also, please click on IBD DONATION to help support Northern California IBD Camp for these kids who are dealing with IBD every day. They are truly heroes. Thank you.
**Crohn's and Colitis are Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Crohn's causes inflammation usually in the ileum or lower part of the digestive system but can be found anywhere from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative Colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in the top layer of the lining of the large intestine.
